The big issue I have with Hilton is inconsistent breakfast offerings. Nothing irks me more than being a diamond and only being offered a contential breakfast and having to pay extra for hot items (eggs, bacon, etc).
At least Garden Inn’s are consistent.

If you wait till a couple weeks before your visit, the points required can be substantially reduced at Hilton Hotels compared to say a couple months before your stay.

Hilton San Jose quoted me a price of $119.00 per night and charged $190 per night x 2 nights plus a $30 per day undisclosed parking fee. When I complained they said they are sorry and if I stay another night they can honor the $119 for that 3rd night – yeah, give them another shot to rip me off.

I recently stayed at a Hilton property in New York. They chargers me a 50 dollar fee in case I used anything at the hotel. I was not happy about this. But the worst part it takes 30 days to get it back! This policy is wrong. I will never stay at hotel that does this. I would rather stay at a B and B and be dealt with on a personal basis. I called about this and the rep counld not help of course. I just work here….

Wow, very long and thorough review, thanks. I have all three of the personal Hilton Amex cards, with the Aspire providing the top (Diamond) status/benefits and the Surpass offering the easiest path to earn another free weekend night certificate.
