Hey Rachel! The categories reflect Marriott’s award levels. The amount of points a Marriott hotel costs is based on the hotel category they fall into. For example, the standard rate for a Marriott Category 1 hotel is 7,500 points per night. The standard rate for a Marriott Category 8 hotel costs 85,000 points per night. You can read about the Marriott award chart here: https://millionmilesecrets.com/guides/marriott-award-chart/

Thanks!

Wow, thank you for the post. They did the same thing to me, for a $20 and a $60 three weeks after my stays. They said they didn’t do it, but now I can go back and prove they did, at least give evidence it happens.

I’ve always stayed at Hilton or Marriott properties, in that order…. until recently when Hilton branded Hampton Inn Stillwater West sent me home with bedbugs I’m still combatting after nearly 18 mts – with no help from Hilton, because even though their name is on the building (to give guests confidence that is so misplaced) they are not willing to help a loyal long-time Honors member get compensation for losses and costs, or help make Hampton Inn Stillwater West be accountable – even though they said they would. (to give guests confidence that is so misplaced).

So now Marriott is in my first place to seek and stay. With preference to Residence Inn because it is suites and affordable, and nice…. then Fairfield Inn because it is affordable and typically when a RI isn’t around, I can find a FI. Both very acceptable, affordable, and as of yet – nothing serious to chase me toward Hyatt, yet.

Agreed, it’s also my experience that the hotel will do everything they can to resolve whatever issue pops up with your stay.

You can have a bad experience at any hotel, at any time, for many different reasons. If things were not your way or you had issues, you should contact Marriott customer service or the hotel direct to have them take care of it. Most of my stays, including town place are fine. In the off chance I have an issue, I let the front desk know immediately or contact customer service, and they will take care of it.

this is a terrible place and does not deserve the name Marriott. rooms were not maintained, alarms were missing or disconnected. now, a month later, a 20 dollar charge was added to my credit card, which was removed earlier. why do you still have my credit card information.

will not recommend nor
stay at another marriott
