FYI, I tried to refer my sister to this card but when she clicked the link it showed her a reduced bonus compared to the current public offer. I called chase and they confirmed that the new card holder will get a smaller offer if they use a referral. Now I can’t in good conscience refer anyone, since I know they are better off just applying themselves. Even if it’s a spouse it was still better to get the regular offer than to add up the referral bonus and the reduced referral offer amount (current public offer 100K, reduced offer through referral link 80K, and referral bonus 15K).
]]>That Chase rep led you astray — you can’t have two Sapphire cards open at once. They should have told you to downgrade the current Sapphire and THEN reapply a few weeks later. I’d give them a call and explain the situation. You’d be surprised at the power phone reps have to approve you!
]]>Nope!
]]>Is there a foreign transaction fee on the Amex Hilton Surpass Card ?
]]>The Amex Hilton Surpass has a $95 annual fee and comes with 10 free entries into Priority Pass lounges each year. If you’re not doing a lot of traveling, or if you don’t travel with a large family, that would be an excellent way to try Priority Pass out and see if it’d be worth moving to a card with actual membership!

I Just called Chase Sapphire and the additional card fee will remain at $75. I did not ask about Lyft Pink.
]]>Did you ever get an answer to this? My husband and I have the same situation and I’m wondering if I can apply and get the sign up benefits. Also, if he refers me, he’d get a bonus as well.
